What the Seller Says...
What Drew You to This House?
I grew up in Perry Hall and graduated from Perry Hall High School. Even though Perry Hall is not actually a town, Perry Hall is my hometown and I love living here. I am always running into friends when I run errands. The convenience of the location can’t be beat for great shopping, access to 95 and the Baltimore Beltway, and recreational opportunities.
What upgrades have you made to enhance your home?
The first thing I did when I moved in was build out the unfinished basement to make a large family room with a workshop and laundry. This space is great on Sunday afternoons when I have friends over to watch a Raven’s game.
In 2014, I completely gutted the main bathroom on the second level. I replaced the tub, vanity, toilet, hardware, and lighting, installed ceramic tile behind the tub and on the floor. I love the granite top on the vanity.
On the exterior, in 2013 I replaced the front hardscaping which really improved the curb appeal. In 2017, the entire roof was replaced from the trusses out. In 2018 I replaced all of the floorboards on the deck as well as the tops of the railings. The deck looks brand new.
What are a few of your favorite features?
One great aspect of this townhouse is its location within the community. This community is very small with about 60 homes. The only reason you need to turn onto Offspring Court is if you live here or are visiting. There is not much traffic. My house is at the end of the court and very near the common area. The common area is great for chipping golf balls or throwing the frisbee around. The back of the house is backed by large pine trees which gives me some privacy when I am out on my deck.
My home is an end-of-group which means it is about 300 square feet bigger than the other townhomes. This translates into larger rooms and more closet space. The master bedroom is spacious with both a walk-in closet and a double wall closet.
What else do you like about living in area?
Although, I am not a big shopper, just about 5 minutes away is a mecca for shopping. Proximity to White Marsh Mall and The Avenue has its advantages when I do need to buy a gift or take friends to dinner.
For me the real draw is how quickly I can jump in my truck and be at the Gunpowder Falls State Park and drop my fishing line into the river. The park is a great place for hiking and birding and there is plenty of parking.
In my opinion, Perry Hall is the perfect location to go just about anywhere. In about 5 minutes you can be on 95 heading south to Oriole Park at Camden Yards or heading north to Havre De Grace for lunch on the water. It’s only 20 minutes to Towson or 20 minutes to Bel Air.
Where do you eat and shop for groceries and other conveniences?
Great grocery stores are all just about 5 minutes away – Weis, Safeway, Target, and the Giant. My favorite is Mom’s, a natural market. I love their produce, especially the apples. Another one of my favorite places in Canton Car Wash. They take washing your vehicle to a whole new level.
Italian Food is my favorite. I go to Serpico’s for the Baked Ziti and Casa Mia’s for the pizza and lasagna. There are so many places to eat on the Avenue, some national chains, like Pablo’s but the locally owned ones are the best. Check out both Della Rosa’s and Red Brick Station’s crab cakes.
What more would you like to tell us about living here?
This is a great little townhouse community. There is plenty of parking, convenient to everything, and close to schools and shopping. Perry Hall is great for families, couples, or singles. Recent additions to the White Marsh area are a trampoline park and Urban Air for a skydiving experience. There are parades and Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies. There is something for everyone all year round. But if you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle, there is plenty of space at 23 Offspring. The deck is great for barbecues and relaxing on a summer evening. It’s quiet and you can hear the birdsong and watch the moon rise. I have some great memories of my time living here and I am sure the new owners will create some great memories of their own.
